In 2004, Chevrolet introduced the latest in a series of collectible Monte Carlo variants honoring NASCAR legends. The signature edition Monte Carlo Intimidator SS released in 2002 was followed up by two new supercharged models – the Dale Earnhardt Intimidator Supercharged SS and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Signature Series Supercharged SS – dedicated to one of the most legendary father-and-son racing driver combinations of all time. Bearing Earnhardt’s nickname on the rear decklid, the “Intimidator” was based on the sixth-generation Monte Carlo Supercharged SS platform, utilizing its supercharged 3.8-liter V6 powerplant rated at 240 horsepower. The package also included ground effects, a NASCAR-inspired ducktail spoiler, exclusive graphics, performance suspension, and 17-inch chrome wheels. Finished in monochromatic Black, only 4,000 examples were produced in 2004 and quickly snatched up by NASCAR fans, making them highly sought-after collectibles today.
