Taking part in the retro-style craze of the early 2000s, Ford reintroduced the Thunderbird in 2002 after a five-year hiatus. Motor Trend called it “the perfect top-down getaway toy for two” and named it “Car of the Year.”

The new ninth-generation Thunderbird, inspired by the styling of its 1950s “Baby Bird” counterpart, featured a mesh grille and the iconic porthole that adorned its removable hardtop. Under the hood was a Jaguar-sourced 3.9-liter V8 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The T-Bird could be had in Deluxe (standard) or Premium trim.

This 2002 Thunderbird Deluxe is finished in black with a color-matching hardtop and black power-operated convertible top. The car’s black interior includes leather-trimmed, high-back bucket seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, center console with storage, and a digital AM/FM stereo system with 6-disc CD changer.

Additional features include 17” aluminum wheels, dual exhaust, heated side mirrors, and power steering, disc brakes, windows, locks, mirrors, seats, and adjustable pedals.
