The 2001 Plymouth Prowler stands as both the final and, arguably, the most symbolic chapter of Plymouth’s storied history. Introduced during Plymouth’s last year as a brand, the 2001 Prowler represented the culmination of Chrysler’s daring hot‑rod experiment—an effort to bring concept-car audacity to the showroom floor. Though the Prowler had debuted in 1997 and received major mechanical updates in 1999, the 2001 model became particularly notable as production transitioned from Plymouth to Chrysler mid‑year following Plymouth’s discontinuation.
Mechanically, the 2001 Prowler carried forward Chrysler’s 3.5‑liter, 24‑valve V6 producing 253 horsepower, paired with the rear‑mounted AutoStick four-speed automatic transaxle that contributed to excellent weight balance and distinctive driving dynamics. Its aluminum-intensive construction remained one of its most advanced features, blending lightweight engineering with dramatic design elements such as exposed suspension components and cycle-style front fenders.
With limited production (a reported 3,142 total in 2001) and status as Plymouth’s final performance car, the 2001 Prowler has become a modern icon and represents the end of an era. This particular example is finished in Powder Silver Metallic and it shows just under 24,000 miles. It has been registered in Florida and Nevada since new.
This 2001 Plymouth Prowler is now offered by the selling dealer with a CARFAX vehicle history report and a clean Nevada title.
