Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The third-generation Fox Body Mustang had brought a legitimate performance image back to Ford’s pony car during the 1980s, but by the early 1990s the design was a bit long in the tooth, and something fresh was needed. While based on an updated version of the Fox platform, the new fourth-generation Mustang that started rolling out of Dearborn in 1993 was nevertheless a thoroughly new car and the first major update for the Mustang in 15 years.
The car received a facelift in 1999 that was so significant that it might be easy to mistake it for an all-new design, but under this sharper, boxier bodywork, the Mustang was largely the same car. This body style lasted until the fourth generation was replaced after 2004.
The 2001 models could be had with a variety of engines, but the most common version was the 3.8-liter EFI V6. Fourth-generation Mustangs are plentiful, but conditions vary widely from worn-out track cars and high-mile daily drivers to pristine like-new time capsule examples. This 2001 Mustang Convertible is among the higher-quality offerings out there.

Ownership History
According to the accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this 2001 Ford Mustang Convertible has had three Detroit-area owners in its 23 years, and each buyer held onto the car longer than the previous one. The original owner purchased the Mustang new on 25 June 2001 and drove it for just over two years, reporting collision damage to the left front on 31 March 2003 (which was repaired). The car went into dealer inventory in November 2003 and was purchased and registered by its second owner on 10 June 2004. After six years, the Mustang met its third owner on 21 September 2010, and it has remained in Southfield ever since.
