Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet marked the first full model year of the groundbreaking 996 generation, a redesign that reshaped Porsche’s flagship sports car for the modern era. As the first open‑top 911 built on this all‑new platform, the 1999 Cabriolet introduced sweeping mechanical and structural changes unseen since the model’s origins. Central to the 996’s transformation was its water‑cooled 3.4‑liter flat‑six, replacing the air‑cooled engines that had defined the 911 for decades. Producing 296 horsepower, the new engine delivered stronger performance, improved emissions compliance, and greater refinement.
The 996 also adopted a more aerodynamic body with a longer wheelbase, wider track, and smoother contours than the 993 it replaced. The Cabriolet’s fully powered soft top, folding beneath an integrated cover, preserved the classic 911 profile while offering quick, quiet operation. A reinforced structure and advanced suspension gave the convertible handling nearly on par with the Coupe.
Inside, the 1999 model introduced a more spacious cabin, better ergonomics, and modern electronics, including drive‑by‑wire throttle and optional stability control. Car and Driver concluded, “Quiet with the top up and down, as quick to open to the sky as a sunroof, the same sports-car manners and acceleration as the coupe.”
Finished in classic Guards Red over a Graphite Grey interior with a recently replaced soft top, this example features a 6-speed manual transmission as well as carbon fiber interior trim.
This 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet is now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with tools, a CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Florida title.
