Please note: After taking the car off the lift, a “CHECK GAUGES” light and a “low coolant” indicator came on when attempting to drive it. (To be clear: NOT a "Check Engine" light.) We have added coolant, hoping that will remedy the gauge, however it may have a faulty sensor.

“Rocketing down the back straight at Road Atlanta, the speedometer buried deep in never-never land, you recall the first of the High-Performance Ten Commandments: Thou can never have too much horsepower.” That’s how Hi Performance Pontiac magazine introduced the Firehawk in October 1991— “The Firehawk has landed.”
From 1991 through the final Gen4 Firebird in 2002, Street Legal Performance (SLP) redefined Pontiac performance. Sent from GM’s Ste-Thérèse plant in Canada, SLP Canada took Formula and Trans Am Firebirds and added a twin-nostril functional cold-air induction hood, channeling air through a Corvette-sourced intake system. A stiffer front anti-roll bar introduced mild understeer to balance the added power. In the rear, shorter lower control arms and a new Panhard rod with firmer bushings helped reduce wheel hop under hard acceleration.
Five-spoke 17x9 Ronal aluminum wheels were wrapped in 275/40ZR17 Firestone Firehawk SZ tires — fitting for a car that bore their name. Each Firehawk received unique badging and a serial-numbered plate mounted to the ashtray lid.
This 1999 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk, one of just 102 built that year, has only 26,058 miles showing — a near-pristine tribute to Pontiac’s muscle legacy. Highlights
