Description
By the late 1990s, the legacy of Carroll Shelby’s legendary Cobra had long since cemented its place in automotive history. Enthusiasts and builders alike continued to honor the original formula—combining raw American V8 power with lightweight roadster styling—through kit car recreations that captured the spirit of the 1960s icon.
This 1998 Custom Cobra Kit, finished in classic blue with white racing stripes, is a tribute to the Shelby Cobra’s timeless design and visceral performance. With just 25,213 miles on the odometer, it remains true to its original build and offers a thrilling driving experience backed by thoughtful engineering and tasteful customization.
Under the hood lies a 351 Windsor V8, enhanced with Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, bored .030 over, and paired with a powder-coated Edelbrock intake manifold and Edelbrock Performer carburetor. An upgraded cam and roller rockers further elevate its performance, delivering a powerful and responsive ride. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.50 gears, ensuring robust acceleration and highway cruising capability.
This Cobra replica also features power steering and power brakes, making it as manageable as it is exhilarating. The interior is finished in white upholstery with navy blue carpeting, offering a clean and stylish contrast to the exterior. A stainless-steel fuel cell adds durability and safety to the build.
