The 1996 Corvette Collector Edition — and its Grand Sport stablemate — marked the final year of the C4 generation with rare versions of the beloved Corvette.

The Collector Edition, available as a coupe or convertible, was distinguished by striking Sebring Silver paint. Combined with special badging, five-spoke ZR-1-style wheels, and unique sport seats with embroidered headrests, the Collector Edition stood out in a classy, understated way.

Power was supplied by Corvette’s torquey 5.7L LT1 V8, backed by a four-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Combined with a superb fully independent suspension, powerful disc brakes, and smooth rack and pinion steering, the Collector Edition was a capable and fitting end to C4 production. After testing one, Motor Trend concluded, “The Collector Edition is a car for serious enthusiast drivers… Take it out on the road, put the pedal down and celebrate.”

This example, finished in Sebring Silver with Torch Red leather upholstery, is one of only 5,412 Collector Editions produced. Powered by the 5.7L LT1 V8 and equipped with the 4-speed automatic transmission, it's equipped with the (F45) Selective Real-Time Damping system, the power driver's seat, the premium stereo with CD player, and the roof package including both a tinted and a painted roof panel.

It spent its first 21 years registered in West Virginia, and is said to have been stored in a collection. It now shows just 13,500 miles and is largely unmodified.
