The Lincoln Mark VIII arrived for 1993 as one of the most technically ambitious American luxury cars of its era. It was the first Ford production vehicle to use the modular 4.6-liter DOHC V8 — an aluminum-block, dual-overhead-cam engine that produced 280 horsepower when new and distinguished itself from the pushrod V8s that dominated the American luxury segment at the time.
