Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
When it launched in 1987, the Cadillac Allanté was introduced by General Motors as “The New Spirit of Cadillac.” This limited-production luxury roadster was Cadillac’s bold answer to European competitors like the Mercedes-Benz SL and Jaguar XJS. Its elegant bodywork was designed and manufactured by the renowned Italian firm Pininfarina, with final assembly completed in Detroit. In a remarkable feat of logistics, finished bodies were flown from Turin, Italy to the Detroit aboard specially modified Boeing 747s—56 at a time.
Technically advanced for its era, the Allanté featured a fully independent strut-type suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel power disc brakes with Bosch ABS, and an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. Inside, it offered premium amenities including multi-adjustable Recaro leather seats, digital instrumentation, and a high-end Delco Bose AM/FM/cassette audio system.
The 1993 model year marked the Allanté’s final—and most refined—version. It was equipped with Cadillac’s cutting-edge 4.6-liter Northstar DOHC V8 engine, producing 295 horsepower and delivering a significant performance boost over the previous 4.5-liter V8. That same year, the Allanté earned a place in motorsport history as the Official Pace Car of the 76th Indianapolis 500.
This low mile Allanté was a GM executive “Brass Hat” VIP car that may have also served as a show car in their Manhattan office.

Ownership History
The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this three owner 1993 Cadillac Allanté in New York, and since 2024, Michigan. It shows 18,560 original miles at cataloging.
The consignor of this Allanté states, “The previous owner who bought it from the original owner’s estate (friends) was told that the car was bought back and put into company car service by the Cadillac Parsippany Zone office as a ‘brass hat’ company car (see copy of MSO owned by Cadillac Motors). It was first used and placed on display as a show car for the GM Building in New York City. After being on display in Manhattan, it was then driven by the Zone Manager as a company car (field car) for several months. The GM Field put about 6500 miles on the car and then sold it to the New York Dealer at a huge discount. All the paperwork in the glove box which is included in the sale supports this claim. I can’t actually document the show car status, but the previous owner told me the story from the original owner when I bought it. The actual miles recorded during the original ownership time frame (25 years) was actually only about 11,000 miles. I know that this process was common among the GM Zone offices because I was a Buick Car Distributor in the New York Zone Office in the early 80’s.”
