Introduced as a lightweight, affordable two-seat roadster inspired by classic British sports cars, the Mazda MX-5 Miata made its public debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February 1989. Two years later, the one-year-only 1991 Special Edition celebrated the model’s runaway success with a touch of classic flair.
Limited to roughly 4,000 units in the U.S. and Canada, it paid subtle homage to British roadsters that inspired the Miata’s original design. Finished exclusively in British Racing Green over a Camel interior with leather bucket seats and trim, each car featured a black soft top and Nardi wood shift knob and hand brake handle.
This example also comes with an optional body-colored hardtop, power steering, power windows, power disc brakes, limited slip differential, 14” alloy wheels, color-matching mirrors, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo with CD player. The sports car is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four engine, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
This 1991 Mazda MX-5 Miata is now represented at no reserve by a Broad Arrow Specialist with an owner’s manual, a window sticker, clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a Texas title in the seller’s name.
