Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

In late 1989, Ford partnered with the 7‑Up bottling company and the NCAA to create a giveaway car for the following spring’s 1990 college basketball championship, where spectators could attempt a half‑court shot to win a specially prepared Mustang convertible. Only 30 cars were initially planned, and production had already begun when the promotional agreement collapsed before the competition could take place.

Rather than scrap the unique configuration, Ford chose to continue production and release the cars to the public as a limited-edition Mustang. Built exclusively for the 1990 model year, the Special Value Group cars were based on the LX Convertible platform and featured a distinctive Deep Emerald Green Metallic exterior paired with an all white‑white leather interior and white power convertible top. Every example was equipped with the 5.0L V8 engine. Production is said to have totaled 4,103 units, making the unofficial, would-be “7Up Edition” a rare, one-year-only Fox Body.

This example was reportedly purchased new by the seller’s father and currently shows just under 63,000 miles. Equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission, the car’s Deep Emerald Green Metallic paint has been professionally corrected and protected with a ceramic coating. Service performed in August 2025 included a transmission rebuild, replacement of the fuel injectors, and installation of a new radiator.

This low-mile 1990 Ford Mustang 7-Up Edition is now offered at no reserve with a clean CARFAX vehicle history report, recent service records, the original window sticker, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
