Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced in 1986, the 560 SEC was the flagship coupe of the Mercedes-Benz lineup, the four-passenger coupe variant of the S-Class, featuring a sleek, pillarless Bruno Sacco design that exuded elegance and sophistication. Power is by the “M117” 5.6-liter SOHC V8 engine rated at 238 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque. This engine allowed the 560 SEC to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 7 seconds, impressive even now for a large coupe.
Inside, the 560 SEC offers a luxurious cabin with high-quality materials, including leather upholstery and wood trim. Advanced features such as ABS brakes, airbags, and an automatic climate control system were standard, showcasing Mercedes-Benz's commitment to safety and comfort.
In 1989, the 560 SEC continued to uphold its reputation as a symbol of prestige and engineering excellence, the model remained in production until 1991. Britain’s MotorSport magazine reported, “The Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC earns its right to a slot close to the very pinnacle of automobile engineering because of the manner in which it combines a whole host of enviable traits, blending them into an exquisitely balanced package which radiates high production standards, superb engineering and a keen perception of what the discerning buyer really appreciates.”
