Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1989 Chrysler TC by Maserati was a unique collaboration between Chrysler and Maserati, led by longtime friends Lee Iacocca and Alejandro de Tomaso. This hand‑crafted luxury grand tourer debuted at the 1986 Los Angeles Auto Show and was based on Chrysler’s K‑platform. Built in Milan, Italy, starting in late 1988, it featured a 2.2‑liter turbocharged four‑cylinder engine producing 160 horsepower, paired with a three‑speed automatic transmission. Luxury touches included Italian leather seating, a premium sound system, and a removable hardtop with opera windows. Despite its upscale features, high pricing and similarities to the Chrysler LeBaron limited its appeal, with only about 7,300 units produced between 1989 and 1991.

Finished in Light Yellow Clear Coat with Ginger leather upholstery, this 1989 TC features a color-matched removable hard top with opera windows and a black convertible soft top that the seller recommends replacing. Acquired by the seller 2021, this example benefits from work over the last five years highlighted below.

This 1989 Chrysler TC by Maserati is now offered at no reserve with service records, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

Known Imperfections

  • From the seller, “The body has a crease on the right side, from the rear quarter through the door. The hardtop has a hole that has been patched but still very noticeable; the convertible top should be replaced but is still functional. The paint is only fair as the clear coat is coming off the trunk and hood, and the seats have been rejuvenated with leather care products, but the seat bottoms are not good - thus the sheep skin covers. The shocks and struts should be replaced. The turbo waste gate sticks around 3k RPM, so it takes a little longer to get up to freeway speed. The A/C has been charged twice with no leak detected, but it loses cooling after about a week. The radio works well but does cut out occasionally, the cassette player is inoperative.”

  • The included CARFAX history report lists the following (see report for full details):

    • March 2009: Last odometer recording of 84,150 miles

    • November 2021: Last listed entry
