Description

In 1978, all GM intermediate cars went through a downsizing phase. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo lost 700 pounds and 15 inches of length while simultaneously gaining more interior and trunk space. These cars were available with both gasoline and diesel V6 and V8 options, giving buyers the opportunity to create a truly sporty coupe according to their preferences. At the top of the range was the Monte Carlo SS, which featured sporting Strato bucket seats, a center console, a potent V8 engine, and an optional manual transmission. Today, these cars are considered modern classics that revived the spirit of the '60s muscle car for a new generation of enthusiasts.
