Description
Twenty years after the Mustang was released, the 1984 Ford Mustang GT350 20th Anniversary Edition was created to celebrate it. This special edition was part of the third generation of Mustangs, produced from 1979 to 1986. It wore an Oxford White exterior with a Canyon Red interior, complemented by red “G.T.350” decals on the sides and tri-bar Pony emblems on the front fenders.
Buyers could choose from three engine options: a fuel-injected 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four, a carbureted “High Output” 5.0-liter V8 with a five-speed manual transmission, or a new EEC-IV electronically fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic. The GT350 was also equipped with power disc/drum brakes, power steering, and comforts such as power windows, tilt steering, and air conditioning. Ford built a total of 5,261 GT350s, available in hatchback, T-top, and convertible body styles.
But Ford never made an ’84 GT350 like this one: its nitrous-fed, 358 cu-in V8 punishes the built C4 trans and 8.8 rear end on the way to a quick quarter-mile time. However, the sale also includes many of the factory parts to convert this special Stang back to a fully streetable hellion.

Ownership History
The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this 1984 Ford Mustang GT350 in Texas and Pennsylvania.
The consignor states, “The engine is a 358 cubic-inch 351 Windsor. It has never been dynoed but is estimated to be around 550 horses. I race four times a year at no prep, it’s a 10.90 car and I race 7.0 index eighth-mile.”
“Mileage is 119k since this car was only driven in Texas when new for 4 years. Then it was taken to Frederick, Maryland and had minor modifications done by the next owner to race at Hagerstown. I've made many improvements, and have most parts to take it back to a street car with a full interior.”
