Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Ferrari is often associated with sleek two-seat sports cars, yet its tradition of building refined four-seat Grand Tourers dates back to the 250 GT 2+2 of 1960 and the 330 GT 2+2 of the mid-1960s. That lineage continued into the 1980s with the Ferrari Mondial, a model designed to blend performance with practicality.
The 1983 Mondial introduced the Quattrovalvole (QV) variant, a major improvement over the earlier Mondial 8. Styled by Pininfarina and crafted by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, the Mondial "QV" featured a mid-mounted 2.9-liter V8 equipped with four valves per cylinder, producing 237 horsepower. This upgrade delivered sharper throttle response and a top speed of 149 mph, making it one of the fastest 2+2 Ferraris of its era. A 5-speed manual transaxle, tubular steel chassis, and fully independent suspension ensured balanced handling, while Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection added reliability.
Offered as both a coupe and cabriolet, Ferrari built 1,145 coupes and 629 cabriolets during the QV’s production run from 1983 to 1985. Period brochures captured its appeal: “The Cabriolet version offers open-air motoring without compromise—Ferrari performance with everyday usability.”
Finished in classic Rosso Corsa over Tan leather, this example shows only 48k miles and is said to remain unmodified aside from refinished factory wheels and an upgraded stereo system. Additionally, a timing belt service was completed less than 1,000 miles ago. This Mondial Quattrovalvole is now offered by a Broad Arrow Specialist with a clean CARFAX history report, convertible top boot, and a clean Georgia title.
