Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1980 Triumph TR7 represented one of the last iterations of Triumph's wedge-shaped sports car, British Leyland's bold departure from the marque's traditional models.
Introduced in the U.S. in 1975 — more than a year before it went on sale in its home market — the TR7 departed from its predecessors with sharp wedge-shaped styling, integrated bumpers, and a unibody design that reflected contemporary automotive trends. Initially offered only as a fixed-head coupe, a convertible variant was introduced in 1979.
By 1980, the TR7 had evolved into a more refined grand-touring sports car. The North American version was powered by a 2.0-liter overhead-cam four-cylinder engine with a single carburetor, but this TR7 Convertible has been upgraded with a Weber progressive two-barrel carb. Additionally, the car is equipped with the optional and five-speed manual transmission.
This TR7 is finished in teal metallic paint with reupholstered caramel bucket seats, matching soft top, 13” steel wheels with full covers, front disc brakes, independent front suspension, front disc brakes, anti-roll bars, rack-and-pinion steering, a rear luggage rack, and an aftermarket AM/FM head unit with cassette player.
This 1980 Triumph TR7 is now offered at no reserve by the seller in Michigan on behalf of its current owner with a convertible boot cover and a clean Colorado title.
