Description
Introduced as the successor to the 240Z, the 1974 Datsun 260Z featured a larger 2.6L L26 inline‑six engine designed to meet tightening U.S. emissions regulations. Although factory-rated power output dipped slightly compared to its predecessor, the 260Z offered improved drivability and refinement. Styling updates included revised bumpers and subtle interior enhancements. Produced for just one model year in the U.S. market, the 260Z served as a bridge between the iconic 240Z and the federally compliant 280Z.
This 260Z was refinished in its current Lexus Crystal Crimson Shine over embroidered black upholstery prior to the seller's 2013 acquisition. The car features an aftermarket front bumper cover, a shaved rear bumper, and a rear wing. Power is provided by a replacement 2.6L inline-six that breathes through dual SU carburetors and an aftermarket exhaust system with a long-tube header. A four-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels. The car rides on a lowered suspension and features 15″ Konig alloy wheels that cover disc brakes up front and drums out back.
This 1974 Datsun 260Z is now offered with an owner's manual and an Arizona title in the seller’s name.
