Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Volkswagen launched the Type 2 in 1950 to meet growing demand for a spacious, multipurpose vehicle. Based on the Type 1 Beetle, the Type 2 —commonly called the Transporter or “Kombi” — was offered in numerous configurations. These ranged from the basic panel van, lacking rear seats and side windows, to the luxurious Deluxe models with 21 or 23 windows, known as the “Samba” in some markets. The Deluxe featured seating for eight, panoramic glass, and distinctive two-tone paint.
Production of the first-generation Type 2 (T1) in Germany ended in 1967 after nearly two million units were built, but its iconic design endured. Manufacturing continued in Brazil until 1975, keeping the classic look alive for years beyond its European run.
This Brazilian-built 1974 Type 2 T1 has been refurbished and converted to Samba specification. Modern upgrades make it ideal for adventure: air conditioning, a mini fridge, sink with running water, two-burner electric stove, and a pop-up bed that transforms the cabin into a cozy sleeping area. A hidden 32-inch pop-up TV adds a touch of luxury. Two-tone Volkswagen Red and Lotus White paint blends vintage charm with contemporary convenience for the classic VW camper experience.
