Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

From the estate of Porsche Master Mechanic David Glenn—director of RUF’s famed Yellowbird engine program and longtime Porsche Motorsport North America specialist—comes an exceptional offering of over 70 no-reserve auction lots. The collection spans Porsche road and race cars, 911 project cars, engines, gearboxes, tools, parts, workshop equipment, and memorabilia, along with select personal vehicles.   Glenn’s five-decade career defined excellence in Porsche engine building, from Kremer Racing to RUF Automobile and Porsche Motorsport, where his precision and passion earned global respect. His meticulously maintained workshop reflects that legacy—filled with authentic engines, precision tools and equipment, reference materials and carefully preserved parts.     On-site lot viewings are available by appointment at Hagerty Garage + Social Savannah, 1446 Dean Forest Rd., Savannah, GA 31405.   * * *

Offered from the estate of Porsche Master Mechanic David Glenn, this 1973 Porsche 911T Coupe has been expertly prepared as an RSR-style project using a desirable non-sunroof chassis—a favored foundation among builders for its rigidity and lightweight character. Reflecting Glenn’s decades of experience at Ruf Automobile and Porsche Motorsport North America, this unfinished project brings together authentic components, thoughtful preparation, and an unmistakable motorsport spirit.

The project includes a Valentin Schaffer and David Glenn–built (accompanying photo included) 2.8-liter RSR-style engine (Type 911/72, number 6149296) and a five-speed gearbox marked with its internal gear ratios. Both were assembled and documented under Glenn’s direction, reflecting his exacting standards and extensive technical knowledge of Porsche’s air-cooled competition engines.

A set of authentic Porsche Fuchs 9-inch and 11-inch alloy wheels accompanies the car, along with reupholstered Scheel sport seats mounted on custom brackets fabricated in Germany. One rack and one box of associated RSR-style parts and accessories are included with the sale, representing an extensive collection of authentic Porsche and motorsport-grade components. While completeness cannot be guaranteed, the breadth and quality of the parts included are notable.

Presented as a rolling, unfinished project, this lot offers an extraordinary opportunity to complete a high-specification RSR-inspired 911 that bears the unmistakable touch of one of Porsche’s most respected engine builders.
