Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The LeMans Sport GTO 455 represented a transitional moment for Pontiac’s famed muscle car. By 1973, rising insurance costs, stricter emissions standards, and a market shift toward personal ‑luxury models had reshaped performance cars. Pontiac adapted by moving the GTO name from a standalone model to an option package on the newly redesigned LeMans “Colonnade” hardtop, identifiable by its fixed B-pillars‑pillars and sweeping quarter windows. You would hardly know a GTO was offered—Pontiac’s own brochure hid it in a single line: “Even our legendary GTO is alive and well as an option.”

Performance, however, was not forgotten. The optional 455ci V8 and four-barrel carburetor produced 250 net horsepower and strong torque, making it one of the era’s more capable engines. The 1973 GTO also introduced the Pontiac Endura front end, and it boasted improved handling via revised suspension tuning. Just 4,806 were built, with only 544 equipped with the 455ci V8.

The 455 GTO offered here has had its white interior replaced with red vinyl, and it is finished in Golden Olive Metallic paint. Built in Atlanta in late July 1973, it is said to retain a YC‑code block, 7M5 heads, and TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.

This 1973 Pontiac LeMans GTO 455 is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with PHS documents, owner’s manuals, a car cover, and a clean Florida title.
