With a charming patina aesthetic, this unrestored Bronco is powered by a factory 302ci V8 engine paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Overseen by the seller, this classic American 4x4 underwent a mechanical refurbishment aimed at restoring drivability in 2025. Showing 50 miles on a reset odometer since the work was completed, this Bronco is now ready for its next custodian.

    • Bench-bled and pressure-bled brake system; torqued wheel lugs to spec

  • Exhaust & Charging:

    • Welded broken exhaust pipe and replaced exhaust hanger bolt

    • Installed remanufactured alternator and adjusted belt tension

  • Driveline & Seals:

    • Replaced leaking pinion and transmission seals

    • Cleaned yokes, installed new seals, washers, and nuts

    • Reattached driveline and topped off gear oil in transfer case

  • Cooling System:

    • Installed OE-style radiator fan shroud

    • Installed new fuel tank, mechanical fuel pump, and fuel filter

    • Fabricated and installed new steel fuel lines

    • Installed new carburetor with electric choke and adjusted wiring

    • Pressure-tested system, flushed multiple times, and filled with antifreeze

    • Drained and refilled transmission, transfer case, and front/rear differentials with gear oil

    • Removed old carpet and padding, scrubbed and rinsed cab interior

Ownership History

The current owner reportedly purchased this 1972 Ford Bronco approximately 27 years ago and has maintained it as an uncut body project vehicle throughout their ownership. In 2025, the Bronco underwent a mechanical refurbishment focused on restoring drivability while preserving its unrestored cosmetics. Since the completion of this work, the vehicle has been driven only about 50 miles, as indicated by the reset odometer.

From the seller: "I grew up in San Diego, where we spent weekends off-roading in the desert on ATVs and trucks. When I moved to D.C., I needed a car and found this Bronco parked on the side of the road. I didn’t even know how to drive a ‘3 on the tree’ at first, but I figured it out and daily drove it for years to Quantico while teaching martial arts. Later, I moved to Houston and eventually bought a second vehicle for commuting, so the Bronco became my fun weekend ride. I wanted to trust it for long trips, so I had a full mechanical restoration done. It now drives better than it ever has!"
