Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1971 Plymouth Road Runner ushered in the second generation with Chrysler’s striking “fuselage” design, featuring sweeping body contours, a loop-style front bumper, and optional “Air Grabber” hood scoops. Built on a 115-inch wheelbase, it blended a more refined appearance with classic muscle car attitude. Under the hood, 1971 marked the final chapter for high-compression big-block engines before emissions regulations and soaring insurance rates reshaped the performance market. As Hi Performance CARS magazine wrote, “We had felt the early models were too boxy, extremely tasteless, and sported an interior that had been rejected by the Taxi division…. For 1971 the Road Runner is a whole new ball game.” High-Octane Restorations, Mopar specialists in Savannah, Georgia, preserved that iconic fuselage styling while infusing modern muscle into this ’71 Road Runner. Power now comes from a modern 6.4-liter Hemi V8 paired with a performance 727 3-speed automatic transmission. Finished in classic Dodge “Lemon Twist” paint with black accents, it sports front eyebrow spoilers, an AAR ’Cuda style rear wing, and a custom trunk stripe. The interior has been refreshed, with the contemporary touch of a retro-style radio with Bluetooth. And those custom LED halo headlights are just a hint of what lurks under the hood. This Hemi-powered 1971 Plymouth Road Runner is now represented at no reserve by a Broad Arrow Specialist with restoration and upgrade receipts, a bill of sale, and a Georgia registration in the name of its current owner.
