Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

In 1971, the Oldsmobile Cutlass remained a popular muscle car. Riding on GM’s A-body platform and featuring a 112” wheelbase, the Cutlass was available in several configurations — with the Cutlass S positioned as the sporty yet affordable model. Not to be confused with the uplevel Supreme, the S was a coupe that was aimed at the youth market, and its sculpted 203” body had a flowing profile, a split grille, its own unique hood louvers, and a lot of chrome.

Most Cutlass S buyers chose the 350ci V8, with the base L65 delivering 240 horsepower with a two-barrel carburetor. Transmission options included 3- and 4-speed manuals, or a 3-speed automatic as seen here. An independent front suspension with coil springs worked in tandem with a solid rear axle, providing a comfortable ride and solid durability.

Purchased new by the seller's grandmother, this 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S is said to be a survivor, having been stored for nearly 30 years. It reportedly retains factory Nordic Blue paint over a color-coordinated interior and is powered by a 350ci V8 backed by an automatic transmission.

This one-family-owned Cutlass S is now offered at no reserve with its original build sheet and Protect-O-Plate, owner's manual and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information

The seller states, “Our '71 Cutlass (Grandma's car "Old Blue") has been idle and in storage since 1996. The car has been driven a few times a year just down the road and back since 1996. When sitting for a month or longer it needs a manual pump a few times to get started. She rides comfortably and has really nice power, in September I drove her on country roads at 65mph nice and smooth.  Old Blue is a little stale smelling on the inside, probably just from sitting idle so much. When grandma left me her car upon passing, I had hoped to make it a project with my dad.  Unfortunately my work took me east for too long and life got in the way.  I hope someone else can give her some love and bring back her glory.”
