Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1971 MG MGB marked the final year of the MKII generation. Originally launched in 1962 as a successor to the MGA, the MGB was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later British Leyland. By 1971, the MGB had firmly established itself as a best-selling roadster, admired for its sleek styling, affordability, and engaging driving dynamics.
Available as both a convertible and GT coupe, the MGB remained a symbol of accessible performance. The 1971 model retained the 1.8-liter B-Series inline-four engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Notable updates for ’71 included a revised grille and interior refinements, enhancing both aesthetics and comfort. The car featured independent front suspension, front disc brakes, and a rear live axle with leaf springs, offering a balanced ride. With over 31,000 units produced that year, the 1971 MGB remains a cherished classic.
This MGB Roadster is refinished in red paint with a black convertible top and is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four fed by dual SU carburetors. The four-speed manual transmission has been upgraded to an overdrive unit, and the car is accompanied by documentation from when it was sold new.
