Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1971 Honda CT70, also known as the Trail 70, represented a key point in Honda’s expanding minibike lineup during the early 1970s. Introduced in 1969 as a larger and more versatile companion to the Z50 “Monkey” bike, the CT70 was designed to appeal to a broad audience that included younger riders, families, and recreational trail users. In markets outside North America, the model was sold as the ST70 “Dax,” a nickname inspired by its long, low pressed‑steel frame.
By 1971, the CT70 was offered with a 72cc overhead‑cam, four‑stroke single‑cylinder engine, paired with either a semi‑automatic transmission (as seen here) or a four‑speed manual gearbox, depending on specification. Its distinctive T‑bone hollow frame, low seat height, and small‑diameter wheels contributed to stable handling and easy accessibility. A defining feature was the inclusion of fold‑down handlebars, allowing the bike to be easily transported without disassembly.
This 1971 example has seen a two-tone repaint in yellow and blue, and recent servicing as described below. It is now offered at no reserve in New York for off-road use only with a tool kit, parts receipts, and a Bill of Sale.

Additional Information
From the seller, “This 1971 Honda CT70 is running excellent. Starts right up and as far as I know, no mechanical issues. As she stands, it is a nice, honest driver. The previous owner(s) painted the two rims blue. If I were to keep it, I would source newer chrome rims, other than that the next owner can simply have fun and drive it and or bring this 55-year bike to another level!"
