The third‑generation Chevrolet Corvette debuted in 1968, introducing a dramatic new body inspired by the automaker's Mako Shark II concept that dazzled show-goers a few years earlier. Its styling emphasized sweeping curves and a more modern, aerodynamic profile than earlier generations, without standout features including vacuum-operated pop-up headlights and T-top removable roof panels.

This 1971 Corvette is one of just 1,949 examples said to have been equipped with the LT-1 350ci V8 for the model year. The car was first delivered to Pastor Chevrolet of Westhampton, New York, and it was factory-finished in Classic White over black vinyl upholstery. Additional features include a close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear differential.

Following a refurbishment prior to the seller's acquisition in 2014, the car received a regional Top Flight Award in October 2014.
