Description
A muscle car legend was born when Plymouth debuted the completely redesigned E-Body Barracuda for the 1970 model year. Measuring five inches shorter than its Challenger chassis-mate, the all-new Barracuda was initially available in three varieties: the standard Barracuda, the luxury Grand Coupe, or the high-performance ’Cuda. A selection of nine engines, from a 225 cu-in inline-six to a fire-breathing, 425-hp 426 cu-in Hemi, were available — but enlightened enthusiasts chose the 440-cube V8 over the Hemi for its low-end torque and street-friendly manners.
A laundry list of options offered everything from dress-up kits to luxury trim, as well as five extra-cost “High Impact” exterior finishes. The ’Cuda’s timeless style and virtually limitless customization contributed to well-equipped examples becoming among the most collectible Plymouths ever produced.
This retina-searing 1970 ’Cuda is dressed like a 1970 AAR ’Cuda road racer, and backs up that look with a 440 Six-Barrel V8 and four-wheel disc brakes.
