Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 represented the peak of Mopar’s muscle‑car swagger, combining aggressive styling with big‑block brute force. Designer Diran Yazejian added the new “loop” grille, scalloped doors, and bold “bumblebee” stripes to give it a fierce road presence, while high‑impact colors like Plum Crazy and Hemi Orange made it impossible to ignore. Under the hood, the legendary "440 Magnum" delivered 375 horsepower and 480 lb-ft. of torque, offering thrilling acceleration without the finicky temperament of the race-derived 426 Hemi. But Car Life magazine reported, “The Chargers were more than just dragstrip terrors. On the handling course, they slammed through turns like the disguised NASCAR racers they really are...”
This 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 was ordered from the factory in the most intimidating of colors: EV2 Hemi Orange. Charcoal and Black vinyl bucket seats, a Black vinyl roof, and the famed Black Bumble Bee tape stripe provided contrast, while the original 440 Magnum and three-speed automatic transmission provided propulsion to the rear wheels. It was ordered with radio delete, the Magnum delivering all the tunes its original owner needed. Destined for Santa Ana Dodge in Southern California, it was equipped with required N95 Evaporator Emission Controls. To deal with the SoCal sun, it was also equipped with air conditioning from the factory.
Hank’s Garage, a North Salt Lake, Utah, venue filled with classic American muscle cars, blends timeless automotive heritage with modern style to create unforgettable events. This is the first time the owner of Hank’s Garage has offered vehicles to the public.
This 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 is represented by a Broad Arrow Specialist and is now offered with the Radio Delete cover plate, refurbishment documents, and a clean Utah title in the name of the current owner.
