Description
The 1969 Chevrolet Concours station wagon was a unique offering in the Chevelle lineup. This A-body was big at 208 inches, and featured a 116-inch wheelbase — four inches longer than a Chevelle coupe. Available in both two- and three-seat configurations, the Concours wagon emphasized practicality with a spacious cargo area.
A coil spring front/four-link rear suspension, combined with a front stabilizer bar and extra chassis bracing, provided a smooth ride even when this wagon was loaded down. And powerful brakes kept the driver firmly in control. Engine options ranged from a 230 cu-in six cylinder to a 350 cu-in V8, with three- or four-speed manual or two- or three-speed automatic transmission options available.
And it might have been created for utility, but it wears some of GM’s most desirable muscle car styling. Combined with the fact that only 10,898 two-seat Concours wagons were built in 1969, and you have the makings of a highly desirable hot rod.
This two-seat Concours station wagon was fully restored in 2020. It was updated with LS power, a modern overdrive transmission, a lowered suspension, disc brakes, and a host of creature comforts to ensure that every cruise night is both fun and comfortable.
