Description
The first-generation Camaro made a bold entrance in 1967, arriving two years after Ford’s Mustang but quickly proving itself a formidable rival. With strong sales and notable success in the Trans-Am Series, the Camaro carved out its own identity. Buyers could choose from an impressive array of 80 factory options and 40 dealer-installed accessories, with engine choices ranging from a modest 230 cu-in inline-six to a powerful 396 cu-in V8.
By 1969, Chevrolet gave the Camaro a more aggressive and refined look. The updated design featured squared-off wheel arches, a distinctive V-shaped grille, vented rear quarter panels, and a sleek rear valance. These enhancements helped cement the 1969 model as a high point in Camaro history, cherished by enthusiasts for its style and performance. Today, these iconic Camaros remain popular, and are often restored and upgraded with powerful engines, modern performance parts, and custom cosmetic touches.
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible was a labor of love for its long-time owner. It was restored with bright red paint, an updated black interior, and a matching black convertible top. And it’s powered by a 350 cu-in GM crate engine, backed by a three-speed automatic trans and a 10-bolt rear end.

Ownership History
The consignor states, “This was my Dad’s car — he loved muscle cars! From the time he acquired it in his late 60s, he put his time, his heart, his finances, and his soul into rebuilding this car that came to him on a flatbed trailer at the beginning of a beautiful restoration project.”
“Sadly, my Dad passed away and my sister and I inherited it. Dad restored all the mechanicals of this beauty and we finished up the interior. My husband and I picked up where he left off. It still needs some small tweaks and adjustments, making it a great project car for the finishing touches.”
