Description
The 1969 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, built by Karmann, carried forward the Beetle’s iconic charm with late-’60s updates. It featured vertical sealed-beam headlights, a relocated fuel filler, and shorter engine and luggage lids for compliance and convenience. Mechanical improvements included independent rear suspension, dual-circuit brakes, and a 12-volt electrical system, boosting safety and handling. Powered by a 1.5L air-cooled boxer engine producing about 53 bhp, it achieved roughly 27 mpg and an 82-mph top speed. Combining simplicity, reliability, and open-top appeal, the 1969 Beetle Convertible remains a beloved symbol of Volkswagen’s evolution and a classic of late-1960s automotive design.
This 1969 Beetle Convertible is now powered by a 1.6L flat-four mated to a rebuilt four-speed manual transaxle. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes up front and drums out back, and bright exterior trim is complemented by polished bumpers and wheel covers. The body is finished in red and wears a black soft top over color-coordinated vinyl upholstery. Replacement carpets line the floor, and additional interior features include a wood-rimmed steering wheel and a retro-style radio with Bluetooth connectivity.
This Beetle Convertible is now offered with recent service records, three ignition keys, two glove compartment keys, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
