After cleaning the rear axle housing with a steel brush, I confirmed the first two characters of the stamp as BT, which corresponds to a factory Positraction 3.55 rear gear. The remaining characters are a date code, which aligns with the vehicle’s build timeframe and supports the rear end being original to the car. Additionally, the engine and transmission stampings are consistent with the vehicle’s trim tag and assembly details.”
