Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1968 Ford Falcon Two-Door Sedan marked the final iteration of the second-generation Falcon, a compact car line introduced by Ford in 1960 to compete with smaller imports and meet growing demand for economical vehicles. By 1968, the Falcon had evolved into a practical, no-frills car known for its reliability and affordability. The two-door sedan variant was especially popular among budget-conscious buyers and young drivers.

Built on a unibody chassis with a 111-inch wheelbase, the 1968 model featured modest styling updates, including a revised grille and taillights. It came standard with a 200 cubic-inch inline-six engine producing 115 horsepower, paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Optional upgrades included a 289 V8 engine and automatic transmission. Front disc brakes and power steering were available, reflecting the era’s gradual shift toward improved safety and drivability.

The 1968 model was among the last before the Falcon nameplate was phased out in the U.S., replaced by the Ford Maverick in 1970. Though overshadowed by the flashier Mustang — both built on the same platform — the Falcon retained a loyal following. And in this 1968 Falcon beats the heart of a later-model Mustang, with a 5.0-liter V8 and five-speed manual transmission.
