Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
After debuting in 1964 as a performance package on the Pontiac Tempest, the Pontiac GTO became its own distinct model in 1966, reflecting its enormous popularity among American car buyers. The brainchild of chief engineer John Z. DeLorean, the GTO is widely regarded as one of the defining muscle cars of the 1960s.
The ’66 model was designed with sleek “Coke-bottle” styling, stacked headlights, and a luxurious interior. Standard power was a 389ci V8 engine, but buyers could also order the legendary Tri-Power version, featuring three two-barrel carburetors and 360 horsepower, making it one of the most desirable GTO configurations ever built.
This 1966 GTO Hardtop Coupe comes with a 389ci V8 fitted with Tri-Power induction and mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The muscle car is finished in Cameo Ivory with Parchment seats, door panels, rear side panels, and headliner and black dash, black carpeting, and black lower door trim.
Among its features are steel wheels with chrome rings and GTO wheel covers, bucket seats, an Equus Pro Tach tachometer, simulated woodgrain dashboard trim, center console, and an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette player. Its current owner acquired the car in 2000.
This 1966 Pontiac GTO Hardtop Coupe is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner with owner’s manual, owner’s warranty booklet, and a clean Michigan title in the current owner's name.
