Description

Carroll Shelby’s GT350 transformed the humble Mustang into a dominant force on both street and track. Homologated specifically to conquer the SCCA’s B-Production class, these limited production San Jose, California–produced K-Code fastbacks were shipped from the Ford factory to Shelby American in Los Angeles, where they received extensive performance upgrades including suspension revisions, competition-ready drivetrains, and distinctive Shelby visual cues.

This GT350, which bears Shelby SFM6S2195, was completed as a 1966 GT350 “Street” model finished in Sapphire Blue and equipped with a rear seat in June 1966, and it was subsequently invoiced to Broadway Motors of Kansas City, Missouri.

The car was acquired on April 6, 1977, reportedly by the seller's brother, and it has remained in the same family. Several years later, this GT350 was refinished in its current Candy Apple Red with off-white over-the-top and rocker striping. The car rides on 10‑spoke Shelby alloy wheels and is equipped with a steel‑framed fiberglass hood.

The Shelby-modified 289ci V8 features a Holley 715‑CFM carburetor, Cobra aluminum intake, and finned valve covers, and the car is equipped with Kelsey‑Hayes front disc brakes, a 3.89:1 rear differential, and a dash‑mounted 8,000‑rpm tachometer. Inside, the black vinyl interior features GT350 instrumentation, a Shelby steering wheel, and latch‑and‑link lap belts. The car has been modified with replacement rear Koni adjustable shock absorbers, Hooker headers, and M‑1 traction bars.

Service performed in preparation for the sale is said to have included work on the fuel system as well as replacement of various underhood hoses and belts.

This 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 is now offered with copies of Shelby documentation, a Shelby American Automobile Club serial number verification, and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.
