Description
Introduced as a mid-year model, the 1966 Dodge Charger was based on the Dodge Coronet but featured a radically different look. Its long hood, recessed grille with concealed headlights, sleek fastback roofline, and full-width taillights gave it a futuristic, aggressive appearance. Under the hood, buyers could choose from a range of powerful engines, from a 318ci V8 to the legendary 426ci Hemi, which delivered 425 horsepower. But nothing like what's under the hood of this one!
This 1966 Charger is now powered by a Dodge Hellcat-derived supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 crate engine mated to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fabricated driveshaft and a Dana 60 rear end. The body wears its reported factory red paint with consistent patina, and bolstered front seats are protected by a six-point roll cage. Additional modifications include RMS Racing front suspension, Unlawful Racing four-link rear suspension, a USCT stiffening kit, and a 3” stainless-steel dual exhaust. This sleeper-style Hellcat-powered Charger has been driven approximately 5,000 miles since completion and is now offered with a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.
