Description
The 1965 Pontiac LeMans was part of Pontiac’s intermediate-sized A-body lineup, representing a mid-size car offering within its range. The model was restyled for 1965 with vertically stacked quad headlights, sharper body sculpturing, and deeper recessed grilles that contributed to a more aggressive appearance. The LeMans was available in multiple body styles including coupes and convertibles, and came with a variety of optional drivetrain, trim, and performance packages.
This example is a 1965 Pontiac LeMans Sport Coupe, also known as a "Post Coupe", built as a tribute to the famous GTO, finished in maroon with a matching maroon interior. It was created to replicate the appearance and configuration of a GTO using a LeMans base. Power is provided by a 1971 Pontiac 400ci Ram Air V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes power steering, power brakes, and an AM/FM radio. Exterior features include GTO badging, chrome brightwork, and 14-inch wheels, while the interior retains factory-style trim and instrumentation.
