Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Introduced as the performance apex of Oldsmobile’s midsize lineup, the 1965 Cutlass 442 brought together muscular styling, refined road manners, and a potent big‑block V8—cementing its place early on among the most respected GM A‑body performance cars of the mid‑1960s. By 1965, the 442 was no longer just an option package; its four exterior badges advertised that it meant business.

This 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Sports Coupe is powered by a 400ci V8 topped with a Rochester four‑barrel carburetor and rated at 345 horsepower, which goes to the rear wheels through a two-speed Super Turbine 300 — or Jetaway, in Oldsmobile's marketing language — automatic transmission. It's finished in Provincial White over a reupholstered red vinyl interior with bucket front seats. An oil change was reportedly completed in preparation for the sale, and the seller notes that the shock absorbers have been replaced.

This 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Sports Coupe is now offered with a clean South Dakota title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History

From the seller: “I’ve owned it for about six months after purchasing it from an individual in Minnesota who had completed most of the refurbishment. I was told the car originally came from Missouri. I’m fairly certain all numbers match, and I believe the white paint is original, as the previous owner—who was very particular about originality—stated.

I have a receipt somewhere for the original engine rebuild, which I believe cost around $3,000. The car has a new interior and was repainted in the early 1990s. It starts, stops, idles, and cruises very well. I recently had the oil, oil filter, and lubrication service completed.”

  • Redline spare tire
