The fourth-generation Thunderbird, released in 1964, was completely restyled and brought a fresh, elegant redesign that emphasized clean lines and a more formal look. The “Flair Bird,” like its predecessor, was available in hardtop, convertible, and landau versions, all of which were powered by large-displacement V8 engines. Front disc brakes became standard for 1965, and sequential turn signals were introduced, which flashed the individual segments of the broad, horizontal taillights from inside to outside.
This ‘65 T-Bird is finished in Vanilla Cream over beige upholstery, and it is powered by a 390ci V8 paired with a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes the air conditioning system has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant, and additional details include Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, a retro-style radio, Supreme wheels, and Travelstar thin-whitewall tires.
