Description
The 1965 Ford Mustang marked the dawn of an American automotive icon. Ford General Manager Lee Iacocca named the sporty two-door “Mustang” because the name “had the excitement of wide-open spaces.” The car shattered sales expectations with its blend of performance, style, and affordability and became an instant hit, capturing the hearts of a new generation of drivers.
This 1965 Mustang left the factory finished in Ivy Green, and has since been refinished in its current hue and fitted with a replacement vinyl top over a reupholstered vinyl interior with bucket front seats. The seller reports that the vehicle has been in their family since 1970, and that the A-code 289ci V8 engine was last overhauled in 1987, reportedly utilizing the original block. Pony-style 14” steel wheels have been added, and they wear BFGoodrich tires. Additional noted modifications include electronic ignition and front disc brakes powered by a Wilwood brake master cylinder.
This 289ci V8-powered 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe A-Code is now offered with removed stock parts, service records, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.
