Description
Originally introduced in 1964 on Chevrolet's midsize A-body platform, the Chevrolet Chevelle offered a balance of performance and style that helped make it one of the most successful muscle car platforms of the 1960s and 1970s. Available in a variety of body styles including coupes, sedans, convertibles, and wagons, the Chevelle appealed to a wide range of buyers with trims ranging from economical transportation to high-performance Super Sport models. For 1965, the Chevelle received a styling refresh that included both a revised front and rear end, as well as new bumpers. Most notably, midway through 1965 the Malibu SS 396 package became available. Though only about 200 were produced for 1965, this marked the beginning of what would become a respected pairing of the Chevelle and the then-new 396ci big-block V8.
This example is a bona-fide Malibu SS that's been refinished in red. It's equipped with power steering, aftermarket air conditioning, and a red/black bucket seat interior with a center console. Under the hood, it is reportedly powered by a modified 454ci Chevrolet V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission. It sits proudly on a set of 15" Eagle Alloy wheels.
This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is now offered with a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
