Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
“The smart new way to haul!” Introduced in 1960, the Ranchero was based on the Falcon platform, offering car-like handling with the utility of a pickup. By 1963, the model had matured with subtle design updates and improved mechanical options.
The 1963 Ranchero featured a unibody construction, which made it lighter and more fuel-efficient than traditional body-on-frame trucks. It came with a choice of engines, including a 144 or 170 cubic inch inline-six, and for the first time, a 260 cubic inch V8 — catering to drivers seeking more power. Transmission options included a three-speed manual or a two-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic.
Stylistically, the 1963 model adopted the Falcon’s updated front grille and trim, giving it a sleeker, more modern appearance. It was available in standard and deluxe trims, with options like two-tone paint and chrome accents.
The 1963 Ranchero stood out as a practical yet stylish vehicle, appealing to small business owners, tradespeople, and suburbanites alike. Ford called it “Work saver on the job… fun saver off the job!” — just like this original Ranchero.
