Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Known around the world for their legendary reliability, versatility, and all-terrain prowess, it's fair to say Toyota Land Cruisers are one of the single most universally loved 4x4 vehicles ever built. What began as Japan’s effort to clone the U.S. military Jeep, later became Toyota’s best-selling model in America with importation of the J40 series beginning in 1963. Cosmetically, the FJ remained largely the same for its twenty years in production and was offered in various wheelbases and utility configurations, with a selection of straight-four and six-cylinder gas and diesel engines.
One of the most desirable configurations among discerning collectors is the FJ45 Pickup, which benefits from a 120-inch wheelbase and a short or long bed at the rear. Today, these trucks enjoy a committed following of enthusiasts and restorers, with professionally retro-modded examples providing a beautiful combination of off-road versatility and iconic styling. Finished in black over black leather-trimmed seats, this pickup truck was reportedly built by Brad Theissen and Jon Howell of TLC. Powering the truck is a 5.3-liter Vortec V8 for excellent power and low running costs, paired with a “4L60-E" four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The driving dynamics have been improved with an aftermarket shackle lift featuring Old Man Emu shocks, four-wheel power disc brakes, and aluminum AR wheels mounted with Truxus STS off-road tires. Other welcome features include a Black Mountain front bumper-mounted winch and Linex bed lining protecting the truck bed and undercarriage. This tastefully upgraded Land Cruiser FJ45 Pickup Restomod offers the opportunity to immediately enjoy a high-quality build off-road or on.
