Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1962 Chevrolet Corvette marked the final chapter of the first-generation Corvette (C1). While the sports car retained the iconic body lines introduced in 1956, the '62 model featured a cleaner, more refined look — notably eliminating the chrome-heavy side coves and offering a more unified color scheme.
Under the hood, the 1962 Corvette introduced the 327 cubic-inch V8 engine, replacing the previous 283 (a previous owner of this car swapped the original engine for a 350 cu-in V8). Transmission options included three-speed and four-speed manual transmission or two-speed Powerglide automatic. Buyers could also choose from a variety of axle ratios to tailor performance to their driving style.
Available only as a convertible, the 1962 Corvette featured a revised interior with improved ergonomics and instrumentation. With 14,531 units produced, it was a strong seller and a fitting send-off to the C1 generation.
