Description
The 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air "Bubbletop" is one of the most iconic full-size Chevrolets of the early 1960s. Known for its sleek roofline, pillarless hardtop design, and association with Chevrolet's legendary performance era, the 2-door hardtop remains highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Combining timeless styling with spacious accommodations and excellent customization potential, the 1962 Bel Air has become a favorite platform for both concours restorations and high-end restomod builds.
This 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop underwent a comprehensive custom build that was initiated by the seller after acquisition in 2022, and was completed in 2025. The build combines classic Chevrolet styling with modern performance, reliability, and comfort. Power comes from an 6.2L LS3 V8 fitted with custom components to replicate the appearance of the legendary 409 engine, paired with a TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. The drivetrain is further enhanced by a rear end featuring 3.55:1 gears and Positraction.
Finished in stunning Summit White paint, the car features restored and replaced exterior brightwork, chrome US Mags wheels, redline radial tires, and a fully restored stock-style interior. Modern amenities include Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital RTX gauges, Bluetooth audio, and a complete American Autowire wiring system. RideTech air ride suspension and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes provide contemporary handling and stopping power while maintaining the car's classic appearance.
Additional upgrades include a billet serpentine accessory drive system, billet hood hinges, a polished aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans, and numerous detail improvements throughout the build. The result is a professionally finished restomod that blends the unmistakable look of a 1962 Bubbletop with the performance and drivability expected from a modern muscle car.
This 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop is now offered with a clean Minnesota title in the seller's name.
