1957 MG MGA

Description
Introduced in 1955 as a radical departure from MG’s aging T-series, the MGA featured a streamlined, ponton-style body that was both modern and aerodynamic. Its design roots trace back to a 1951 Le Mans prototype, and by 1957, the MGA had firmly established itself as a stylish and capable roadster.
Under the hood, the '57 MGA was powered by a 1489cc BMC B-series inline-four engine, initially producing 68 horsepower and later increased to 72 hp. This engine was paired with a four-speed manual transmission, offering spirited performance for its time. The car featured independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and hydraulic drum brakes on all four wheels, delivering a balanced and engaging driving experience.
The 1957 model year marked a production high point, with over 16,000 roadsters and 4,000 coupes built. The MGA’s minimalist interior, low-slung stance, and responsive handling made it a favorite among enthusiasts on both sides of the Atlantic. This well-kept ’57 Roadster wears iconic black paint, tan faux leather interior, and a tan convertible top.
