Description

The Chevrolet Task Force pickups of the mid‑1950s blended style, utility, and mechanical simplicity, helping cement Chevrolet’s dominance in the light‑truck market. The 3200‑series ½‑ton long‑bed variant offered additional cargo capacity over the shorter‑bed 3100 while retaining the same handsome proportions, curved fenders, and familiar mid‑century steel‑cab construction. With available V8 power beginning in 1955 and continued refinements through 1956, these trucks remain some of the most collectible of the Task Force lineup.

This 1956 Chevrolet Pickup 3200 is powered by its correct 265ci small‑block V8 paired with the original four‑speed manual transmission. The seller purchased the truck in 1997 and subsequently performed a frame‑off refurbishment, which was reportedly completed in 2000. Originally believed to have spent time in Wyoming and Colorado, the truck was relocated to New York in 2022 and retains its factory‑correct Empire Blue exterior over blue vinyl and clith upholstery. The 265 cubic-inch V8 was rebuilt at the time of the refurbishment, and the truck reportedly retains its original cab, chassis, drivetrain, and powertrain.

This 1956 Chevrolet Pickup 3200 is now offered with an owner's manual, a dealership badge, and New York State registration in the seller’s name.

Ownership History

From the seller: “I am the second owner of this 1956 Chevrolet Pickup. I purchased it in 1997 and completed a full frame‑off restoration in 2000. The truck is very original—the rebuilt 265 V8, the four‑speed transmission, the cab, and all major components are the ones it left the factory with. I have kept the truck in excellent condition. It runs great, stops on a dime, idles, and shifts perfectly. It has no power steering, so you have to use your muscles. It spent its life in Wyoming and Colorado until I relocated to New York in 2022. All numbers match, and the truck was refinished in its original Empire Blue color during the restoration."

Included Items

  • 1956 Chevrolet Truck Operator’s Manual

  • Uninstalled dealership badge
