Description
The 1955 Dodge C-3 was part of Dodge’s C-Series lineup, produced between 1954 and 1956. These mid-size pickup trucks were known for their rugged utility and classic styling, making them popular among farmers, tradespeople, and small business owners. The C-3 was available in multiple body styles, including standard cab, stepside, wideside, and town panel configurations.
Under the hood, the C-3 offered two inline-six engine options: a 230 cu in and a 241 cu in, with transmission choices ranging from a 3-speed manual to a 4-speed manual and even an automatic. Notably, 1955 marked the first year Dodge offered a V8 engine in its pickup trucks, giving the C-3 a performance boost that appealed to a broader market.
The C-3 balanced durability with style, and its introduction of the V8 option helped set the stage for future Dodge truck innovations. This 1955 C-3-D Stepside is now powered by a 331 cu-in Hemi V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and rides on a chassis reportedly sourced from a 1988 Dodge D100. The body is refinished in red with a black cab, center stripe, and side steps.
